Our survey service includes establishing the general condition of a yacht, assessing damage, checking for osmosis, confirming compliance with regulations, satisfying insurers, monitoring the quality during the building process and establishing a valuation.

MEGA MARINE valuations are carried out by experienced marine surveyors who have comprehensive detailed intelligence of the current and forecast yacht market conditions. They can therefore formulate the key information required by clients seeking valuations of their yachts.

If our clients need a valuation for insurance, finance or even for probate purposes, the yacht can be viewed afloat, and the valuation will be based on the assumption that all underwater parts are in good order. Any such valuation will be based on known average values achieved by craft of similar type and condition, and must not be confused with replacement values or costs, which may be substantially higher in some cases.

Because there are relatively few examples of each yacht class on the market at any one time, and because those may vary widely in condition and equipment, valuations are usually given between two figures, because it is unrealistic to give a precise single figure. The exception is when valuing for probate, when a precise sum will be required by the Inland Revenue.
